What does reflashing the tablet mean?
Reflashing a tablet means reinstalling, updating, or replacing its operating system/firmware directly onto the storage memory. In our context, it means reinstalling the operating system/firmware.
Why reflash a tablet?
Reflashing can be done for several common technical reasons:
Fixing system corruption & boot loops
If a tablet is stuck in a boot loop (repeatedly restarting on the logo screen), frozen on startup, or experiencing severe system crashes, flashing the official stock firmware acts as a total reset. It overwrites corrupted system files that a standard factory reset cannot fix.
Removing bloatware and improving performance
Many budget or carrier-locked tablets come pre-installed with heavy custom skins and unwanted background apps (bloatware). Reflashing a clean "stock" version of Android can significantly speed up performance and improve battery life.
Recovering from a "bricked" state
If software modifications, failed updates, or malicious software render the device unresponsive (a "soft brick"), reflashing via a PC using low-level flashing tools (like SP Flash Tool or Odin) can restore the tablet to working order.
When NOT to reflash a tablet
Note that reflashing is dangerous. It can potentially brick your tablet! So only do this as a last resort and if recommended by Decent tech support. If your tablet stays in the boot loop or is otherwise bricked so you cannot use it anyways, why not try reflashing it to maybe give it a second life.
