Over time, background processes and accumulated applications can cause the tablet interface to become slow, lag, or drop frames on the shot graph. This procedure cleans up system load while keeping your tablet active on Google Play for security updates.
Step 1: Delete or disable non-essential apps
1. Exit the Decent App:
Tap the Gear icon (lower-right).
Select the App tab (top-right).
Tap the Exit button (lower-right).
2. Open the App Drawer:
Tap the six-dot icon at the bottom of the home screen to view all installed apps.
3. Remove or disable unused applications:
Tap and hold the icon of an app you want to remove.
To uninstall: Drag the icon to the Trash Can icon at the top of the screen.
To disable system apps: If there is no trash can, drag the icon to the App Info ("i") icon at the top of the screen and select Disable. If prompted to replace the app with the factory version, select Yes.
Essential apps to keep:
AndroWish (Required — runs the Decent user interface)*
Super SU (Required for system permissions)*
Play Store & Google Settings (Keeps remaining apps updated)*
* Basic system apps that cannot be disabled (e.g., Settings, Downloads, File Manager, Clock, Camera)
* Personal transfer apps if needed (e.g., Chrome, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos)
Step 2: Turn off unnecessary Google syncing
If you are logged into a Google Account on the tablet, disabling background syncing stops unnecessary background activity from slowing down the processor.
Part A: Pause activity controls
1. Open the Google Settings app from the app drawer.
2. Select Google Account -> Data & personalization.
3. Under Activity controls, select Manage your activity controls.
4. Pause the activity logging options.
5. Exit back to the home screen.
Part B: Disable account syncing
1. Open the primary Settings app.
2. Select Accounts -> Google -> tap your logged-in Google account.
3. On the Sync screen, toggle off all sync items except those strictly needed (e.g., keeping only Drive or Gmail enabled for file transfers).
Step 3: Restart and launch
1. Press and hold the physical Power button on the tablet.
2. Select Reboot (or Power Off and turn back on).
3. Once restarted, launch the Decent app.
