How to Replace the Leg Base

Instructions on How to Replace the Leg Base
- T10 Torx screwdriver
- PH2 Phillips head screwdriver or T20 Torx screwdriver
Step 1: Power Disconnection
For DE1XL or DE1XXL Models:
- Remove the back panel.
- Turn off the machine's back switch.
- Unplug the power cord.
For DE1PRO and DE1PLUS Models:
- Turn off the machine's back switch.
- Unplug the power cord.
Step 2: Remove External Components
For v1.43 or Higher (Slide-in Tablet Stand):
- Unplug the USB cable.
- Gently pull the tablet stand out.
For v1.3 to 1.42 (Screwed-in Tablet Stand):
- Unscrew the three screws holding the tablet stand.
- Remove the stand.
Then…
- Remove the drip tray.
- Remove the drip tray cover.
- Lift the lever on the back of the machine.
- Slide the water tank out and remove it.
- Remove the portafilter.
- Remove the group head handle.
Step 3: Turn the Machine Upside Down
- Place a cloth on the countertop to protect the machine's cover.
- Rotate the steam wand to a horizontal position to prevent it from hitting the countertop when the machine is turned over.
- Hold one of the machine's legs with one hand.
- Support the top cover with the other hand.
- Carefully flip the machine over and gently place it upside down.
Step 4: Remove the Leg Base
- Using a PH2 Phillips or T20 Torx screwdriver (depending on the screw type), remove the four screws securing the leg base.
- Remove the leg base.
Step 5: Mount the New Leg Base
- Align the four spacers with the screw holes on the bottom chassis of the machine.
- Place the leg base onto the spacers, aligning the screw holes as accurately as possible.
- Use a T10 Torx screwdriver to help align the three holes if needed.
- Reinsert the screws using the appropriate screwdriver.
- Tighten the first three screws halfway.
- Fully tighten all four screws.
Step 6: Turn the Machine Back Into Its Initial Position
- Hold one leg with one hand and support the top of the machine with the other.
- Carefully return the machine to the upright position.
