How to replace the feet of your Decent Espresso Machine

In this video, we'll show you how to replace the feet of your Decent Espresso machine.

    Instructions on how to replace the feet of your Decent Espresso Machine

    Tools required

  • PH2 Phillips head screwdriver or T20 Torx screwdriver


  • Step 1: Power disconnection

    ForDE1XL or DE1XXL models:
    1. Remove the back panel.
    2. Turn off the machine's back switch.
    3. Unplug the power cord.

    For Pro and Plus Models:
    1. Turn off the machine's back switch.
    2. Unplug the power cord.


    Step 2: Remove External Components

    For v 1.43 or higher (slide-in tablet stand):
    1. Unplug the USB cable.
    2. Gently pull the tablet stand out.

    For v 1.3 to 1.42 (screwed-in tablet stand):
    1. Unscrew the three screws holding the tablet stand.
    2. Remove the stand.

    Then...

    1. Remove the drip tray.
    2. Remove the drip tray cover.
    3. Lift the lever on the back of the machine.
    4. Slide the water tank out and remove it.
    5. Remove the portafilter.
    6. Remove the group head handle.


    Step 3: Turn the machine upside down

    1. Place a cloth on the countertop to protect the machine's cover.
    2. Rotate the steam wand to a horizontal position to prevent it from hitting the countertop when the machine is turned over.
    3. Hold one of the machine's legs with one hand.
    4. Support the top cover with the other hand.
    5. Carefully flip the machine over and gently place it upside down.


    Step 4: Remove the old foot

    1. Grab the wide end of the foot.
    2. Pull it out using a gentle circular motion.
    3. If needed, wear comfort-grip gloves for better traction.


    Step 5: Remove the metal insert

    1. There is a metal insert inside the foot.
    2. Insert a PH2 Phillips head or T20 Torx screwdriver into the bottom of the foot.
    3. Push the metal insert upward.
    4. The insert will pop out from the opposite side.
    5. Remove it completely using your fingers.


    Step 6: Mount the new foot

    1. Take the new foot.
    2. Insert the top cylinder into the mounting hole.
    3. Push it in until the cylinder is no longer visible.
    4. Gently rotate the foot to ensure it fits snugly.


    Step 7: Install the metal insert

    1. Place the metal insert into the center hole of the foot.
    2. Make sure the wider end of the metal insert faces the same direction as the wider bottom of the foot.
    3. Start inserting it with your fingers.
    4. Use a PH2 Phillips head or T20 Torx screwdriver to push it fully into place.
    5. When properly installed, the wider end of the metal insert should no longer be visible.
