Bengle: ready for espresso in 72 seconds, ready to steam 20 seconds later

Ben Champion has rewritten how Bengle heats up: it's now ready for espresso 41% sooner, and ready to steam 36% sooner. Wake it from its cold state, and it's:

  • ready for espresso in 72 seconds
  • ready to steam 20 seconds later

    • Animation: time from cold until ready, timed from the end of the power-on checks. Bengle Release: espresso 1:12, steam 1:32. Bengle Beta: 2:02 and 2:24. DE1XXL: 2:46 and 3:16. DE1: 4:04 and 4:48

    These times start once Bengle has finished the power-on checks it runs when you switch it on, which take about 20 seconds.

    The new heat-up is being tested side by side with the current software on two Bengles, before it goes into a firmware release.
