The v1.1 update introduced three pivotal changes: an AC electrician's clamp for precise flow measurement via power monitoring, new communication ports enabling future Group Head Controllers, and a 4mm reduction in headspace for drier pucks. These refinements improved accuracy under load and paved the way for advanced thermal stability.

The v1.3 update introduced the Group Head Controller for tablet-free operation, volume-based stop without scales, and faster 1500W steaming. Improvements included a faster Android 8.1 tablet, a durable welded stainless steel drip tray, a silent fan, and optimized group head mechanics for easier portafilter locking.

The v1.4 update focused on refined aesthetics and logistics. It introduced the sturdy DE1XL tablet stand as the standard for all models, replacing the previous "Steelie" mount. Despite COVID-related price increases, the release reaffirmed Decent's commitment to providing all owners with free, ongoing software and firmware improvements.

The v1.43 update introduced a redesigned tablet stand that slides into a slot under the top cover, eliminating the need for screws. This mechanical refinement simplifies assembly and disassembly, making the DE1 even more convenient for travel while maintaining all other technical specifications from the v1.42 version.
The v1.44 update (January 2023) introduced durable resin handles, screwless faceplates, and a high-surface-area water intake filter. Functional upgrades include light-grey silicone gaskets, Torx screws for easier maintenance, moisture protection for the group head PCB, and improved standby switches, emphasizing iterative refinements and longevity for all owners.
v1.45 (August 2023)
The v1.45 update (August 2023) makes Group Head v2 parts standard and introduces Suitcase v2, featuring bouncier protective foam and accessory storage. It also switches the included 18g basket to a ridgeless design for better extraction and easier removal, alongside a $100 price increase over v1.44.
