BengleWand tube replacement guide
Tools required
Step 1: Remove the tube or angled fitting
1. Use straight-tip tweezers to remove the clip holding the steam tube or angled fitting in the steam wand connector.
2. Pull out the tube or fitting from the connector.
Step 2: Remove the steam wand from the machine
1. Hold the nut with a 25mm spanner or adjustable wrench and loosen it.
2. Once loosened, fully unscrew the nut by hand.
3. Pull the steam wand forward to remove it from the machine.
Step 3: Remove the connector and metal adapter
1. Use a 17mm spanner to hold the metal adapter and a 10mm spanner to loosen the connector.
2. Fully unscrew the connector by hand.
3. Check the O-ring inside the connector and leave it in place if it is in a good condition.
4. Use a 17mm spanner to loosen the metal adapter.
5. Once loosened, remove the metal adapter by hand. Wearing comfort-grip gloves is recommended to improve grip and protect your hands from the sharp edges of the ball joint collar.
Step 4: Disassemble the wand
1. Wear comfort-grip gloves and fully unscrew the steam tip.
2. Gently pull the metal adapter backward to release the tube from the wand.
3. Slide the metal adapter off the opposite end of the tube and set it aside.
Step 5: Install the new tube
1. Thread the new tube through the hole in the metal adapter.
2. Ensure the tube end faces the head side of the adapter.
3. Slide the adapter toward the brass ring end of the tube.
Step 6: Reassemble the ball joint
1. Position the BengleWand.
2. Place the spring onto the brass joint and align the holes in the ball joint, brass joint, and spring.
3. Insert the tube end through the aligned holes and push it completely through.
Step 7: Reinstall the metal adapter
1. Wear comfort-grip gloves on both hands.
2. Press the male side of the adapter into the female threads inside the back of the ball joint collar.
3. Once the threads engage, screw the adapter in by hand.
4. Take care not to press directly on the tube end, as this may damage it.
5. Fully tighten the adapter using a 17mm spanner.
Step 8: Reinstall the connector
1. Inspect the O-ring inside the connector.
2. If damaged, replace it with the new O-ring supplied with the replacement tube.
3. Thread the connector onto the female side of the adapter by hand.
4. Ensure the tube end remains centered within the O-ring during installation.
5. If resistance is felt, stop and realign the tube before trying again.
6. Hold the metal adapter with a 17mm spanner and fully tighten the connector using a 10mm spanner.
Step 9: Reinstall the steam wand
1. Insert the steam wand back into the machine.
2. Thread the retaining nut by hand.
3. Fully tighten the nut using a 25mm spanner.
Step 10: Reinstall the tube or angled fitting
1. Remove the remaining O-ring from inside the connector using a T10 Torx screwdriver.
2. Place the O-ring onto the end of the tube or fitting.
3. Insert the tube or fitting into the connector.
4. Using a gentle circular motion, push it fully into place until the tube's brass ring or the thicker section of the fitting is no longer visible.
5. Reinstall the retaining clip into its original position.
