  2. Remove the drip tray cover.
  3. Lift the lever on the back of the machine.
  4. Slide the water tank out and remove it.
  5. Remove the portafilter.
  6. Remove the group head handle.

Step  3: Remove the Main Cover

  1. Use a T10 screwdriver to remove the 8 screws securing the main cover.
  2. Gently stretch the sides of the cover outward.
  3. Lift the cover off the machine.

Step 4: Pump Removal

1. Disconnect Power and Tubes

  1. Unplug the pump power cables.
  2. Disconnect the cables: Locate the clip above the cable connection. Press and hold the clip with the T10 Torx screwdriver while gently pulling the cable connector to release it.
  3. Remove the F-Type Tube Clamps:
    1. Wear comfort grip gloves.
    2. Hold the ear of the hose clamp with your thumb. Twist the clamp using pliers to release the tension.
    3. Stretch the clamp to remove it completely from the tube.
  4. Remove the F-Type Tube: Gently pull the F-type tube from the pumps. Use the cloth to immediately wipe up any residual water that drips out.
  5. Secure Cables: Hang the loose cables on the chassis near the steam tube to clear the workspace.
  6. Remove Tube Clips: Detach the clips securing the yellow and green tubes from the pump connectors.

2. Detach the Pump Assembly

  1. Remove Mounting Nuts: Using the 5.5mm hex nut driver, remove the four hex nuts securing the pump assembly.
  2. Retrieve Dropped Nuts: If a nut drops, use the angled tweezers to easily retrieve it.
  3. Detach the Assembly: Pull the pump assembly away from the machine chassis. If it is stuck, rock the assembly slightly and pull one side out at a time until it detaches.
  4. Disconnect Bottom Tubes: Pull out the yellow and green tubes from the connectors at the bottom of the pumps. Wipe up any dripping water with the cloth.

3. Disassemble Old Pumps

  1. Remove L-Shaped Connectors: Wearing comfort grip gloves, unscrew the L-shaped connectors from the bottom of the pumps.
  2. Stabilize the Cylinder (If needed): If the pump or the cylinder begins to turn while unscrewing the connector, use the adjustable wrench to grip the flat section of the cylinder and hold it steady.
  3. Remove Top Pads: Lift the rubber pads securing the pump tops to release the upper section of the pumps.
  4. Remove Pumps: Push the bottom rubber pads inward to release the lower section of the pumps (the cylinders).
    1. Once the pump bottom is halfway released, hold the pad with one hand.
    2. Use the other hand to pull the pump out of the frame completely, using a slight twisting motion.
  5. Remove Springs: Remove the two springs located below where the pumps were mounted.

Step 5: New Pump Installation

1. Mount the New Pumps

  1. Insert Cylinder: Place the new pump's bottom cylinder through the hole in the bottom rubber pad. Stretch the edge of the hole while inserting the cylinder with a circular motion.
  2. Install Spring: Once the cylinder is through the hole, compress the spring and place it between the frame below and the rubber pad. Ensure the cylinder bottom is centered in the spring.
  3. Secure Pump: Push the pump into the pad with a twisting motion.
  4. Secure Top: Place the top connector through the hole in the top pad, then press the pad around the hole to secure the pump top.
  5. Position Bottom Pad: Push the bottom rubber pad as far as it reaches the point where the cylinder starts.
  6. Repeat for Second Pump: Turn the first pump aside slightly to make space, and install the second pump using the same method.
  7. Return to Position: Turn the first pump back into its correct position.

2. Reinstall Connectors and Tubes

  1. Install L-Connectors: Screw the L-shaped connectors onto the bottom of the pumps hand-tight.
  2. Stabilize (If needed): If the cylinder turns while screwing, use the adjustable wrench to hold the cylinder steady.
  3. Adjust Angle: After fully securing the connectors, use the adjustable wrench to carefully adjust the connector angle so the tubes will connect properly without bending or stretching (which prevents leaks).

3. Reconnect Clips and Tubes

  1. Remove Old O-Rings: Use the tip of the T10 Torx screwdriver to gently push and pry out any old o-rings remaining inside the tube connectors.
  2. Install New O-Rings: Slide new o-rings onto the ends of the yellow and green tubes.
  3. Connect Yellow Tube: Push the yellow tube into its connector gently with a circular motion.
    1. The connection is secure when the brass ring is no longer visible through the clip slot.
    2. Install the securing clip.
  4. Connect Green Tube: Connect the green tube using the same method, and secure it with the clip.

4. Final Assembly and Power

  1. Install Assembly: Place the pump assembly frame back onto the chassis.
    1. Insert the four bolts from the chassis through the corner holes of the pump frame.
    2. Secure the assembly using the four 5.5mm hex nuts and the hex nut driver.
  2. Connect Cables:
    1. Cold Pump (Right): Connect the cable with the light blue cable tie. Roll the sleeve back slightly to ensure the clip engages and bites the connector properly when you push it in
    2. Hot Pump (Left): Connect the cable with the red cable tie using the same method.
  3. Secure F-Type Tube: Connect the F-type tube to the pumps and secure it with the hose clamps.
  4. Secure the clamp: Stretch the clamp to grip the tube end, then rotate it so the ears face forward. Squeeze the ears lightly with your fingers, and finally, tighten the clamp using pliers.
