The previous de1app version was released in October. Here's what's new in this version:
New workflow for bluetooth scales
when the DE1 is put to sleep, the de1app auto-disconnects from your scale, so you can power it off. This greatly extends the battery life of your scale.
When you wake your DE1 from sleep, it will auto-connect, so it's good to power the scale on before or soon after waking your DE1.
If you have a Decent Half Decent Scale or full height Decent Scale v1.2, the scale it automatically powered off when the DE1 goes to sleep
if you want the de1app to stay connected, even if the DE1 is sleeping, go to Settings->App->Misc and enable “keep scale connected”
Stop-at-weight won't get triggered during preinfusion steps
allowing you to move your cup placement during preinfusion
Also: the word “tare” in a profile's step message, will retare the scale to 0g at that point in espresso making. This allows a profile to allow a cup to to be placed on the scale after the espresso has been started. However, most profiles have not been rewritten to allow this feature, as it's unclear how needed it is (ie, you started espresso before putting a cup on the scale)
App Auto-update
If your DE1 is asleep in the middle of the night, and you're connected to wifi, de1app software updates are auto-downloaded, and will be applied the next time you tap OK in the Settings page.
You can disable this in Settings->App->Misc.
Your stable/beta/nightly setting (in Settings->App->Misc) determines which app updates you are getting.
All the original 3 stage profiles that had ~4ml/s preinfusion, have now been changed to be 8ml/s
A consensus has been arrived at, that slower preinfusion tends to cause more channeling and worse shots.
Added support for more bluetooth scales: “Eclair” scale by Atomheart (Taobao link), Solo Barista scale LSJ-001, Varia AKU scale.
Allowunusual screen resolutions of Samsung tablets to be set using Settings->App->Resolution.
Specifically: the “a7 lite” is 1340x800, the “a9+” is 1920x1200, the “s9 ultra” is 2560x1848.
Two new espresso profiles: Damian's “Q” (best for medium-light roasts) and John Weiss' “Advanced Spring Lever”
