A rye whiskey drink mixed with sweet vermouth, cherry liqueur, a barspoon of Pernod, and a lemon twist. It is very lightly acidic, sweet, and fairly strong at about 25% ABV.
Rye in place of Scotch and Pernod in place of orange juice make it spicier and anise-forward, reducing the orange-citrus and malt notes.

- Different: 2 oz rye instead of 1.5 oz Scotch; .75 oz sweet vermouth instead of .5 oz; a barspoon of Pernod instead of orange juice; stirred instead of shaken, with a lemon twist.

Tipperary Cocktail
An Irish whiskey cocktail with sweet vermouth and 20 drops of Green Chartreuse. It is lightly tart, off-dry, and fairly strong at about 23% ABV.

- Same: Whiskey and sweet vermouth, strained into a chilled coupe.
- Different: 2 oz Irish whiskey instead of Scotch; 1 oz sweet vermouth instead of .5 oz; no orange juice and no Cherry Heering; stirred instead of shaken, in a Green Chartreuse-rinsed glass.
