Amazing eggnog -- with your espresso machine!

Eggnog can be tricky to make, easily overcooked and clotted, or dangerously undercooked (raw eggs!). The steam wand on your espresso machine, along with a milk thermometer, is all you need to easily make amazing eggnog.

TLDR RECIPE:

1. In a blender, put:

\- 1 large egg

\- 150ml whole milk

2. Steam to 80ºC

3. Serve 50ml

4. Boozy variation: +5ml spiced rum

5. Espresso variation: +25ml espresso

6. Boozy Espresso variation: 8ml Amaretto

Full recipe:

Espresso Machine Eggnog:

In a blender, put:

\- 1 large egg

\- 150ml whole milk

\- 80ml salted caramel

\- \(optional\) powdered cinammon

steam heat the mix to 80ºC

\- \(optional: briefly blend after heating\)

serve into a small cup

\- I serve about 50ml

\- \(optional\) powder ground cinammon on top of the cup

Boozy variation:

\- add 10% of spiced rum \(vanilla, oak flavors\)

\- in a 50ml of eggnog mix, add 5ml of spiced rum

Espresso Eggnog:

\- 25ml of espresso \(medium or medium dark bean, pulled with "Espresso in the 80s" profile\)

\- 50ml of eggnog \("no alcohol" version\)

Boozy Espresso Eggnog:

\- 25ml of espresso

\- 50ml of eggnog \("no alcohol" version\)

\- 8ml of Disaronno \(or other Amaretto liquor\)
