Short version: Streamline-Bridge stores your espresso data locally on your device. No account is required. Crash reporting and analytics are off by default — you choose whether to enable them at first launch, and can change your mind at any time in Settings → Data Management. Shot data is only ever sent externally if you choose to upload it to Visualizer.coffee.

Streamline-Bridge (the "App") is a companion application for Decent Espresso machines, published by Decent Espresso LLC ("we", "us", "the Company"), incorporated in the United States. This policy describes what data the App processes, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

1. Data collected and processed

Shot data (pressure, flow, temperature, timing curves) — Core shot recording and review. Stored locally on device only.

Machine settings & profiles — Profile management and upload to Decent Espresso machines. Stored locally on device only.

Bean, grinder & equipment info — Shot annotation and logging. Stored locally on device only.

Scale weight snapshots — Real-time shot monitoring. Stored locally on device only.

BLE device identifiers — Discovering and connecting to machines and scales via Bluetooth. Stored locally on device only, never transmitted.

Crash reports, usage analytics & performance data — App stability and improvement via Firebase. Only collected if you have opted in via Settings → Data Management.

Shot data (Visualizer upload) — Sharing shots with the Visualizer.coffee community. Only sent when you explicitly initiate an upload.

The App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment details, precise GPS location, or contacts.

2. Bluetooth (BLE) usage

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover and connect to Decent Espresso machines and supported scales (Felicita Arc, Decent Scale, Bookoo). Bluetooth device identifiers are used solely to establish and maintain the connection; they are not stored persistently or transmitted anywhere.

On iOS, Bluetooth access requires explicit permission. The App will prompt you before accessing Bluetooth. You may revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; doing so will disable machine connectivity.

3. Crash reporting, analytics & performance (Firebase)

The App integrates three Firebase services provided by Google LLC, all of which are disabled by default and only activated if you choose to opt in at first launch or via Settings → Data Management:

Firebase Crashlytics — collects anonymous crash reports including device model, OS version, App version, and a stack trace at the time of the crash. No personal data or espresso shot content is included.

Google Analytics for Firebase — collects anonymous usage events such as which screens are visited and how long sessions last. No personal data or espresso shot content is included.

Firebase Performance Monitoring — collects anonymous App performance metrics such as startup time and network response times. No personal data or espresso shot content is included.

You can enable or disable all three services at any time in Settings → Data Management. Disabling them stops all collection immediately. Google processes any collected data in accordance with their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Data may be processed on Google's servers in the United States and other countries.

The legal basis for processing this data, where applicable, is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time via the toggle in Settings → Data Management.

4. visualizer.coffee uploads

The App supports optional upload of your shot data to visualizer.coffee, a third-party shot-sharing and analysis platform. This feature is entirely opt-in: no data is sent to Visualizer.coffee unless you explicitly initiate an upload from within the App.

You decide which shots to upload, when to upload them, and whether to use this feature at all. Decent Espresso LLC does not automatically share any shot data with Visualizer.coffee.

Once uploaded, your shot data is governed by visualizer.coffee's own privacy policy and terms of service. Please review their policies at visualizer.coffee before using this feature. Decent Espresso LLC has no control over how Visualizer.coffee stores or uses uploaded data.

5. Local data storage & retention

All shot records, profiles, and equipment data are stored locally on your device. This data is not backed up to any cloud service operated by Decent Espresso LLC. If you use iCloud or Android device backup, your operating system may include App data in device-level backups according to your personal backup settings — this is outside our control.

Data is retained on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. You have full control over your local data at all times.

6. Data sharing

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party, except in the following circumstances:

You have opted in to Firebase services, in which case anonymous crash, analytics, and performance data is shared with Google LLC as described in Section 3.

You explicitly initiate a Visualizer.coffee upload, as described in Section 4.

You use an export or sharing feature within the App to share data with another application or service of your own choosing.

Required by applicable law or a valid legal order directed at Decent Espresso LLC.

7. International users & GDPR

Decent Espresso LLC is based in the United States. If you are accessing the App from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data is handled in accordance with this policy.

The core App stores all espresso data locally on your device and does not transfer it to us. Firebase services are disabled by default; if you choose to enable them, anonymous diagnostic data is processed by Google in the United States on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time via Settings → Data Management.

As a user in the EEA, you have the following rights:

Access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.

Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate personal data.

Erasure — Request deletion. Since all espresso data is stored locally on your device, deletion is performed by you within the App or by uninstalling it.

Portability — Export your shot and profile data from within the App.

Withdrawal of consent — Disable Firebase data collection at any time via Settings → Data Management.

Complaint — Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11.

8. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Decent Espresso LLC does not sell personal information. To submit a privacy request, please use the contact details in Section 11.

9. Children's privacy

Streamline-Bridge is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will be happy to help you get that information removed.

10. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating this page and revising the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
